Island Hawaiian Studios will be hosting another Alameda Kanikapila, a Hawaiian Music Jam Session, on Saturday, Jan 26th, from 6 to 9 p.m. This fun community event is held the 4th Saturday of each month with attendance ranging between 30 – 50 people. Bring your ‘ukulele and/or guitar and join us for an evening of music and impromptu open mic and hula. Admission is free, and dinner plates and beverages are available for purchase. The women of Hālau Makana are excited and energized as they prepare for the Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete competition in Merced, California on March 23-25. The competition is the longest running Tahitian Dance and Cultural Festival held outside of French Polynesia. This is the first year that Hālau Makana will be competing.
